In a twist to the allegations of illegal activity in a children’s home run by a Catholic charity the government caved in under pressure brought by the Catholic Church resulting in the National Child Protection Authority withdrawing the case on the ‘advise’ of the Attorney General of Sri Lanka.
Is the Church above the law in Sri Lanka country and is it able to subvert the law?
If the activities of the Home were legal the Catholic Church should have insisted that the legal process takes its due course without flexing its muscles.
